How compatible is Cloud CPQ Express with SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer? Is Cloud CPQ Express SAP certified?

Cloud CPQ Express is built as an Add-On for SAP Hybris Cloud for customer. It is seamlessly embedded in C4C and available via single-sign-on. Cloud CPQ Express is an SAP certified solution and repeatedly achieved certification level “built on SAP HANA® Cloud Platform” by SAP. The certificate confirms technical and syntactical consistency of the application in accordance with SAP certification procedures. It confirms that this configuration meets the requirements for Cloud CPQ Express running on SAP HANA Cloud Platform with on-premise extension to SAP ERP 6.0 and cloud extension to the SAP® Hybris® Cloud for Customer.

Customers of In Mind Cloud can expect an accelerated and pre-tested implementation and integration within the mentioned SAP environment following SAP’s high standards for technical integration.

Can Cloud CPQ Express use existing SAP Variant Configurator LO/VC product models? How is SAP SSC (Solutions Sales Configurator) utilized for configuration and pricing?

Cloud CPQ Express can run in different scenarios. Scenario 1 uses the SSC application engine for configuration and pricing whilst the SAP ERP is used as the repository of product models and price conditions. Standard RFC Destination connection is used to facilitate the transfer of data from SAP ERP to SAP HANA Cloud Platform and made available to SAP SSC. This scenario is most suitable for those customers who would like to make use of existing LO-VC product models in cloud for sale process enablement.

Can Cloud CPQ Express make use of SAP ERP External Pricing to configure, price, quote with ERP data in the cloud?

In the second scenario the pricing from SAP ERP (External Pricing) is used, whilst and the configuration is used from Cloud CPQ Express itself. In this scenario no SAP SSC is used. The pricing is provided by the SAP ERP external pricing interface and the sales configuration centric capability is provided by Cloud CPQ Express. This scenario is most suitable for those customers who do not envisage manufacturing product models in LO-VC to be same as the sales system selection or feature selection models. The bulk of sales effort is to put a quote together using a combination of finished goods that are priced in ERP but put together in Cloud CPQ Express using system and feature selection centric knowledgebases.

What other configuration and pricing options - apart from SSC or ERP External Pricing - exist in Cloud CPQ Express?

Scenario 3 uses the cost model approach of Cloud CPQ Express. It facilitates bottom up creation of Sales BOM (Bill of Material) and prices using the base costs of underlying RAW materials. This implementation does neither use SSC nor the external pricing from ERP because the cost model logic to build up the costs exists in Cloud CPQ Express. This is most useful for contract manufacturing customers who offer made-to-order goods based on RAW Materials, semi-finished goods or both.
